James E. Goulka

Mr. Goulka has led six organizations through significant transitions over the past decade. Among these are a $600 million publisher, two start ups, a not-for profit foundation, an accredited school of architecture, and a university sponsored facilitator of technology transfer between the federal government and the private sector. Earlier in his career he was a Chief Financial Officer and, for over twenty years, he was a corporate finance specialist at parts of what are today Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase, where he focused on leveraged acquisition financings and workouts. He has done business in 25 countries, either as a senior executive, a board member, or by serving clients.
Mr. Goulka earned both an MBA and a BA from Yale.
He has served on many not-for-profit boards, including the Center for the Study of Financial Institutions and Markets and the Associate Board, both at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University; Steppenwolf Theatre Company: Chicago Shakespeare: the Dallas Zoological Society: the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy: and the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust.
Mr. Goulka has been a guest lecturer at the business schools at Harvard, Yale, Ohio State, Thunderbird, and Marquette.
